When you create a post, you earn 5 points. Writing a comment earns 2 points. Even small actions like reacting to a neighbour's post earn 1 point — every contribution counts.
Daily Limits and Bonuses
Daily cap
You can earn up to 50 points per day from regular actions. This ensures a fair pace for everyone and keeps the focus on genuine participation rather than rushing to accumulate points.
Streak bonuses
Consistent daily activity builds a streak. When you reach certain milestones, you receive bonus points that bypass the daily cap:
| Streak Milestone | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 7 consecutive days | +10 points |
| 30 consecutive days | +50 points |
| 90 consecutive days | +100 points |
Variety bonus
Contributing in multiple ways in a single day earns a small variety bonus. For example, if you create a post, leave a comment, and react to someone else's content all in the same day, you will receive extra points for the variety of your participation.
First-time bonus
The first time you try a new type of contribution — your first post, your first comment, your first reaction, or your first RSVP — you earn double the base points as a welcome bonus. This encourages you to explore different ways of participating.
Reputation Tiers
As you earn points, you progress through five tiers. Your tier is displayed as a badge next to your name and shows other community members your level of participation.
What Each Tier Unlocks
Higher tiers unlock additional features. Here is a summary of what becomes available at each level:
| Permission |
Newcomer
0pts |
Neighbor
25pts |
Regular
200pts |
Pillar
1000pts |
Elder

Losing Points
Keeping the community safe is a shared responsibility. When content is removed by a moderator for violating the community guidelines, the author loses the points they earned from that content.
The severity of the violation determines how many points are deducted. More serious violations carry a higher penalty multiplier:
| Violation | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Off-topic content | ×0.5 |
| Inappropriate content | ×1 |
| other | ×1 |
| Spam | ×1.5 |
| Misinformation | ×1.5 |
| Privacy violation | ×1.5 |
| Harassment | ×2 |
| Violence | ×2 |
| Hate speech | ×2.5 |
For example, if a post that earned you 5 points is removed for spam (×1.5), you would lose 8 points.
Receiving a formal warning from a moderator also carries a point penalty. A temporary or permanent ban resets your score to zero. These measures protect your neighbours and ensure the community remains a welcoming place for everyone.
Inactivity and Decay
Reputation reflects ongoing participation. If you have not earned any points for 30 days, your score will begin to decrease by 3 points per week.
Your score can never drop below 25 — so once you have reached Neighbor, inactivity alone will not take that away from you.
Grace period
If your score drops below a tier threshold, you keep your current tier privileges for 14 days before any demotion takes effect. This gives you time to return and participate before losing access to any features.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I lose my tier?
Yes, but not immediately. If your score drops below a tier threshold (through penalties or inactivity decay), you keep your current tier privileges for 14 days. If your score recovers during that time, nothing changes. If not, your tier will be adjusted to match your current score.
Why can't I create an event?
Creating events requires the Regular tier (200 points). You can earn points by posting, commenting, reacting to content, and RSVPing to existing events. Check the Earning Points section above for a full list of actions.
Do points expire?
Points do not expire on their own. However, if you are inactive for more than 30 days, your score will slowly decrease by 3 points per week until you return. Your score will never drop below 25 from decay alone.
Can other people see my score?
No. Your exact score is private and only visible to you on your own profile. Other community members can see your tier badge (for example, "Regular" or "Pillar") next to your name, but they cannot see your numeric score.
What happens if I get reported?
Reports are reviewed by a moderator. If your content is found to violate the community guidelines, it will be removed and you will lose points based on the severity of the violation (see Losing Points above). If the report is not upheld, nothing happens to your score.
How do streaks work?
A streak is built by earning at least one point on consecutive days. When you reach a milestone (7 days, 30 days, 90 days), you receive a bonus that bypasses the daily cap. Missing a day resets your streak to zero, but your existing points are not affected.
Is there a daily limit?
Yes, you can earn up to 50 points per day from regular actions. However, streak milestone bonuses, variety bonuses, and first-time bonuses are not counted towards the daily cap, so you may occasionally exceed it through consistent and varied participation.
